Mexico Ministry

We will have a Mexico Ministry report this Sunday after the second service in the youth building. Here is a quick overview from Mauricio Rivas, our Mexico Ministry leader:

We had a very productive trip. Our team did a lot of work and the Gifts of Love were again a big blessing. DCN very much appreciates our support and they send their thanks to our congregation. Our young people helped with putting down tiles in more parts of the church grounds. They also helped with putting down the ground base under the shade. Eventually this shade will have a concrete floor for AWANA in the shade. The hope is that this will increase the time in the year that DCN can have an active AWANA ministry. Our team also helped with continuing to dig the ditch for the wall that has been going up around the church since last Christmas. The blocks needed for completing the primary part of the wall have been bought with funds provided by VBC. In fact, the AWANA ministry provided well over $400 to support DCN’s AWANA ministry; and some of the materials we used on this trip were purchased with those funds.

DCN was very happy to have Paul Dusing with them for an extra week and they had a full schedule for him. Paul shared his testimony at the New Year’s Eve service, helped with AWANA during Sunday Service, taught a lesson for the youth group and helped with construction work at the church during the week.

Daniel continues taking courses from Masters Seminary in Spanish, he has finished 2, and will be registering for the third one in the coming days. VBC is assisting with his continuing education and he says the material has helped his preaching already.

We discussed having a missions conference some time in April. VBC will sponsor Daniel at the Shepherds Conference again this year, so we’ll see him in a few months. We may also host DCN visitors in April but details for that still need to be worked out.
