Randy Thompson grew up in western Pennsylvania and became a believer at age 14 after counselors at a Christian summer camp shared the gospel with him. He came to the Antelope Valley in 1989 to work in aerospace where some of his co-workers invited him to Valley Bible
Randy has been involved in many ministries at VBC including the college group, Evangelism Explosion, missions, leading a growth group, teaching adult Sunday school, Men's Ministry, Father-Son Ministry, and the biblical counseling ministry. He was trained in cross-cultural ministry before VBC sent him and his wife, Rebecca, to Japan, where they served as missionaries for four and a half years. Currently, Randy leads the VBC Biblical Counseling Ministry and teaches the first service adult Sunday school.
He and Rebecca have two college-age sons, Christian and Jace. Randy enjoys reading, spending time in the outdoors, playing the Scottish Tenor drum, and hanging out with family and friends. "I love my brothers and sisters at VBC and am challenged by their striving to become more like Jesus," Randy said. "I am humbled to be able to work together to make disciples."
